Why Darwin Day Matters: Celebrating the Evolutionary Revolutionary {2021}

I think this is a great start, and each family can adapt it piece by piece and in different ways on this Darwin Day 2021.

Holidays create conditions for different family members to work together to achieve a common goal – to be happy together – a goal that is easy to forget about in everyday life.

I also love science and knowledge.

Learning something new is one of the main sources of joy for a person. Nothing sparks the mind of an adult or a child than learning something new. The accumulation of knowledge has made us special in the animal kingdom.

Science has enriched our lives with lives that enable us to live longer, healthier, happier, safer and more productive lives. Science is one of the most important aspects of our civilization. However, we do not honor science.

Hence the idea of this site was born. I thought, why not start celebrating science the way we celebrate many other things? Why not give science its due, why not learn more about the subject that is so important in our lives.

The 21st century will be the perfect time to start a tradition honoring science. It’s time for science to get as cool as Christmas for kids. It’s time to spend time with your loved one, once talking about the wonders of nature and science. It’s time to have some fun!

Darwin Day has been around for quite some time, and on this day, there are many events dedicated to the birthday of Charles Darwin, the famous evolutionary biologist who, together with Alfred Wallace, discovered one of the most elegant and most wonderful concepts of how life works – evolution.

The theory of evolution, which is now a proven fact, explains all living things that we see around us. It can not only explain all life on Earth, but life that has become extinct long ago, and can provide reliable predictions of how life will adapt to a changing environment in the future.

In fact, this is a very simple concept, but it can manifest itself in countless different ways. Darwin Day will be the first science holiday my family will have, and I hope you will join us in the celebration.

Other celebrations of science may revolve around the topic of space, which is also very rich and technological, which is becoming more and more relevant today.

But first, we must concentrate on February 12, Darwin’s Day 2021. Currently, there are only a few well-established traditions around Darwin Day. The purpose of this site is to collect and share ideas about this “new” holiday.

In a few decades, Darwin’s Day may be as big as Valentine’s, but there is still a lot of work to do.

Together we could have done it in small steps at the time. Improvement and enrichment of the event every year. If you want to receive notifications about the development of events, register.

Why Does Darwin Day Matter?

Why Does Darwin Day Matter

What is the Purpose of Darwin Day? Darwin Day reminds us of the true meaning of human progress. Evolution in all its complexities, including evolution in the human mind and imagination, has played a central role in our collective narrative of our species’ history.

Darwin Day reminds us that progress depends on the constant quest to evolve, to evolve the mind. Evolution in all its complexities has given us the inspiration to seek, to wonder, and to look for answers.

While there are not yet complete answers, the continuous search for truth inspires us to keep seeking.

Darwin Day reminds us of the humanistic imagination. The depth and power of human creativity cannot be measured. It is our gift and responsibility to utilize it. Darwin Day is an invitation to become creators, not merely consumers of knowledge.

The Celebration Starts

International Darwin Day will be observed by the United Nations and its members as an opportunity for international partnerships through the common language of science for the common good of all. The UN’s high-level review of science this year endorsed Darwin Day as a global Day of Wellbeing.

In the U.S., Darwin Day serves as a reminder of the power of science, an important aspect of our continued mission of advancing knowledge for the common good of all.

How Can We Celebrate and Take Part in it?

Recognize it by wearing your Darwin Day T-shirt and/or hat, by hanging an “Evolutionism: Dead” sign on your front door, or by keeping the lights on for an extra hour tonight!

Darwin Song

To the tune of “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer”

Darwin, an English scientist

Had a very curious mind.

To the Galapagos Islands,

He sailed to see what he could find!

Most of the other scientists

Thought that it would be quite odd

They thought he was suggesting

A world created not by God

But it does not matter what

You believe, that’s clear!

Lightning bolt or spark of God,

Evolution’s how we’re here.

Darwin Day is a commemoration, meant to inspire Darwin Day attendees to take action for the advancement of science, and to celebrate the cultural accomplishments and revolutionary significance of Charles Darwin, his ideas and discoveries, and the scientific contributions of his supporters.

We encourage our audiences to learn about the history and legacy of Charles Darwin and the contributions of those who have taken the lead in this regard over the past 200 years.
